Southland District Council is responsible for providing services to a diverse range of communities across the largest land area of any territorial authority. Following a review of how we deliver our services in our critical water, wastewater and stormwater activities we recognise the need to add to our team. This is to address changes in the regulatory and national policy environment and deliver on our organisation-wide focus on continuous improvement.

We currently have opportunities for a manager operations, asset manager wastewater, asset manager storm water and a contract engineer to join our dedicated team of professionals.

Our Contract Engineer will be predominately field based.  They will be responsible for undertaking auditing of contractor performance and quality assurance on health and safety plans as well as delivery of a more proactive water, wastewater and stormwater inspection and maintenance programme.
