An opportunity has arisen for someone who is passionate about libraries and connecting our communities with the multitude of services Council offers.
This role is in our Te Anau Library and we are looking for someone whose forte is multi-tasking. This role will have you wearing many different hats as one minute you could be handling queries about Council’s policies and services, taking payments for rates and debtors accounts or lodging service requests and then the next minute, delivering a wriggle and rhyme programme, advising visitors to the town on where to park their campervan, helping a customer with their ipad or recommending a great read to a borrower.
No day is the same and you need to be able to thrive in this diverse environment to ensure that we provide a welcoming and engaging service for all of our customers.
While a library qualification would be of benefit, our ideal candidate should have outstanding people skills, be an “expert” in the area of customer service, and have professional and innovative administrative skills, the ability and willingness to listen, learn and be constantly looking for ways to improve service delivery to our community.
