Southland District Council Roading Division manages a roading network of 5000 kms.  These roads are the lifeline of our geographically spread communities and last year we spent 24 million dollars on maintaining and developing them.

We are looking for an experienced engineer to join our dynamic and progressive team who are committed to improving the infrastructure of Southlands communities.

Our ideal candidate will have a wide range of experience in the roading and asset management field.  They will be able to demonstrate their knowledge in the following areas:

  • Roading and engineering in rural sealed and unsealed pavement and bridges.
  • Asset Management
  • Transport programmes of capital renewals and maintenance
  • Procurement and contract management
  • Knowledge of roading lifecycles, levels of service and sustainability
  • Innovating with technology
