Southland District Council has an exciting opportunity for a seasoned Project Manager to join us and lead our team of dedicated Community Engineers who are responsible for supporting the effective development, operation and maintenance of community projects, facilities, services and working alongside our Alliance Contractors on maintaining our roading infrastructure.
Council administers the largest land area in New Zealand and we are committed to providing our communities with the very best in services, no matter their location. In this role you will lead a team of 7 community engineers. You will be responsible for creating an engaged team environment which provides exceptional service delivery and collaboration with key stakeholders such as the Community Partnership Leaders, Property, Transport, Water and Waste Services and our Alliance Contractors, Southroads and Fulton Hogan. You will support your team’s professional development, foster a culture of continuous improvement and enable your team to build strong partnerships throughout the Council.
You will have outstanding people skills and be a skilled communicator who builds enduring and effective relationships with a wide range of stakeholders. You will be able to demonstrate your ability to negotiate win-win solutions and be aligned to our vision of working together for a better Southland. You will be an experienced project manager with the proven ability to not only deliver projects on-time and within budget but have the ability to coach and increase capability within the team. You will be results and quality orientated and be savvy in the use of technology to your advantage.
