Traffic Services Engineer

Southland - Invercargill

Are you ready to drive your career forward in 2017?

Would you like to work for one of the largest territorial roading authorities in New Zealand?

Then we have the perfect opportunity for you …….

Southland District Council’s dynamic and progressive roading division manages a roading network of nearly 5000km.  These are the lifeline of our widespread communities and last year we spent $20 million on maintaining and developing them.

We need an experienced engineer who will develop and manage capital and renewal projects throughout the district as well as deliver pavement marking and road signs services.

Our ideal candidate will have a wide range of roading experience, including significant experience managing contracts and contractors. He/she will have a sound knowledge of and experience in working with New Zealand Transport Agency’s policies and procedures and will have strong analytical and problem solving skills and an understanding of contemporary asset management.  Above all he/she will be an excellent communicator, health and safety advocate, and enjoy collaborating and building strong relationships with a variety of stakeholders, both internal and external.

We recognise that staff are our most valuable asset.  We believe in supporting them in their training and development, having competitive remuneration packages which are benchmarked against market rates, providing the best of equipment and technology and an environment which enables personal growth.
