Work-Scheme Assistant

Southland - Invercargill

Are you a Jack or Jill of all trades who enjoys working outdoors? Do you come with a can do attitude?

Southland District Council is looking for someone with a strong, practical skill base in property maintenance to assist with the delivery of our works programme. This role is ideal for those who thrive on variety in their workday. Our ideal candidate will be great at thinking on their feet and looking outside the box, able to plan and prioritise tasks and will be focused on delivering high-quality workmanship and customer service.  They will also be a champion of our “safety first” culture and be able to model this commitment in all that they do.

You’ll spend your days covering our vast District, so driving is a must.. Your role will see you undertaking tasks like lawn mowing, water blasting, weed spraying, painting and chainsaw work – so adaptability is a must.

In exchange, we will commit to your continued training and development, market-based remuneration and the opportunity to work in a highly professional and productive team.
